Lance Armstrong Sucks and A Book Review
Thought #1: Okay, I have had an onslaught of people asking me if I’m going to drive out to the spot in Germany where it seems everyone else is going to watch the Tour de France. My answer is:
No.
Heck no.
Why, you ask, am I not taking part in the chance to see history in the making?
Because Lance Armstrong is a putz.
I don’t care to waste my weekend cheering for some loser who dumps his wife, who supported him thru his battle with cancer and then gave him three children, to take up with a singer whose voice is so horrid that I’m not even going to type her name. Just because you are an excellent athlete does not give you blanket permission to be a jerk.
If I had gotten dragged into going, I was planning to bring a sign that said “Go back to your wife and kids”.
Thought #2 for the day: The Bad Seed is a scary book. Really freaking scary. I’ve read “true crime” stuff like Helter Skelter and And the Sea Will Tell. I’ve even read thru that boring, elementary, pretentious piece of crap novel that critics think is just brilliant, American Psycho. Yet none of those even come close to this tale of a murderous 8 year old fiend. It reads mostly from the perspective of her mother and oh my, the ending is enough to keep you sleeping with one eye open if you live anywhere near a playground. Normally, I would post more of a book review but this is one that I don’t want to say anything else to alter anyone’s experience should they choose to read it. Suffice it to say that it is the most disturbing book I have ever read (and that’s a compliment to the writer, Mr. March).

Wow. The illiterate tripe that passes for feedback these days… I admire Lance, but I wish I could admire him completely. It’s good to be strong enough, but it’s not good enough to be strong. You have to be right, too, or it doesn’t matter.

Wow, such strong feelings from the general populace on this post. So, this is what I find most amusing about this post, and more precisely, the responses to the post:
1) The people with the harshest comments are also the worst when it comes to their mastery of the language. (not that I’m a master at all, I’ll be the first to admit) It seems to me that the poorer the typing, spelling, grammar, the higher level of insult that is being spewed.
2) I also find it amusing that people find the need to attack Fluffy with comments on his/her knowledge level on cycling. What relevance does the author’s knowledge on cycling have on the comments on Lance Armstrong’s life with his wife? Are you implying that you need to be a cyclist to know something about divorce?
3) Those folks that commented on Fluffy’s ignorance of Lance’s reasons for breaking up with his wife, why don’t you do something productive and set the record straight? Maybe there is a good reason that he broke up with his wife. If this post got under your skin so much, then fill everyone in, so we can all make a better judgment for ourselves.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion…it’s just sad the most opinionated people here also seem to be very close to illiterate. For those that did not understand…I meant: u r dUmM

I remember having conversations with you about Lance, and, being a cyclist myself, and not one to feel the need to say I’ve won a time trial, I’ll agree, nobody has the right to bash you for having an opinion based on Lance’s utter lack of morals based on your knowlege of his sport.
Just because he’s won 7 tour de lances, er…frances, doesn’t mean he still isn’t a douchbag.
Oh, and if anyone else gives you grief about biking, tell them I’ll be your proxy, and probably smoke their asses either on or off road.

You rock Josh. I think he’s an excellent athlete but a jackass of a person. It’s funny to watch how closely he’s coached when giving interviews and such.

First of all, i’m a cyclist. I race mountainbikes in the sport class, and cyclocross in the ‘c’ class. I also do a major amount of road riding. So using liberal logic which apparently the moron from New Jersey is, i’m entitled to comment.
Lance sucks, and this coming from someone who use to admire him. I’ve heard reports here in Texas that both he and his wife were unfaithful, but she did so only after he did, but that is only here say.
He will never be considered to be the greatest cyclist. That honor goes to Eddy Mercks, or possibly the Italian cycling great Coppi. Had Armstrong perhaps done more racing during his tour wins, i.e. the Vuelta or Giro, then maybe i’d rethink his greatness. I know MANY cyclist who think Armstrong sucks.
I’m also tired of how OLN is still giving all these props to Armstrong. Get over it, the jerk is no longer racing, thank heavens.
If you read the book ‘Lance Armstrong at War”, you’ll understand that this guy isn’t a good person.
Princess Lottie, please grow up and learn to speak and type in English, not that tripe ebonics.

The birds have come home to roost for poor Lance. His testicular cancer was caused by the steroids he had been taking in the mid-90’s. He has truly pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes, for he actually brought about the cancer by his use of steroids and then basked in the glow of the recovery. He made everyone think that he was this victim of this big, bad disease. The truth is coming out, though. Slowly-but-surely, it will be unveiled that he is a fraud. He and Barry Bonds are birds of a feather. All the while, he has inspired this mythology that will soon be obliterated along with all of those tacky, yellow bracelets. The truth is coming, and it will rain down on him with the disgrace of a failed marriage, a doping scandal, revocation of his titles and a failed movie adaptation of his life. And in regard to Sheryll Crow…she left him because she found out from him that that he had lied about taking steroids. Give her credit for recognizing him as the fraud that he is.
