It was that way at this place, too! For a mere 5.60 Euros (over $7 with the current exchange rate), they would happily wash "ladies' undergarments". They tacked on a 20% service charge for Sat & Sun. Room service menus were very amusing. 8 Euro service charge and a hard boiled egg was 4 Euro. I would have at least thought they would have a hot tub and sauna, but the only way you could use it was if you shucked out 110 Euros for a special massage package. Oh well.

I should have warned you about the disappointment of "luxury" hotels. I've stayed in a few over the past year never found them to be worth the extra money, but it made my sister happy which made the trips easier. In my experience the rooms seem to be about the same as a Holidy Inn unless you spring for the ultra luxury suites which we never did. The only difference I can see is if it's a beach vacation and the hotel is literally on the beach.

The most frustrating thing I've found about 5 star establishments is the total absence of self service laundry facilities. I like to pack light so those are a necessity if the trip is over 3 days. Most Holiday Inn type hotels will have at least 1 washer and dryer per floor, but the 5 stars are more than happy to do your laundry for you at $15 a shirt. None of the T-shirts I packed for the first trip even cost $15, so when we couldn't find a laundrymat we just went shopping instead.
